Adamson began 2000-01 as second-choice keeper to Brian Jensen at West Bromwich Albion and made a single first-team appearance in the FA Cup Third Round tie at Blackburn Rovers when Jensen was injured.
The Baggies then signed Russell Hoult, pushing Adamson further down the pecking order and, although he played regularly for the reserves, he finished the 2000-01 campaign on the transfer list.
Adamson signed a new one-year contract with Sheffield Wednesday in July 2005.
