A brilliant outside-left in the post-WW2 era (1946-50), immaculate left foot, free kick/penalty ace. Tempted to Bogota (Colombia) by serious money. Charlie was an integral member of Busby's first great side, winning an FA Cup winners medal in 1948. Both his sons and a grandson have been on United's books without making the first team.
