This vastly experienced goalkeeper made a couple of outings from the subs' bench for Bristol Rovers in 2000-01 when standing in for regular 'keeper Nick Culkin. He had the misfortune to suffer a broken rib at Bury in October and eventually announced his retirement after some 17 seasons and almost 400 Football League appearances. Brian is likely to remain in the game in a coaching role.
