Brian McGlinchey

McGlinchey struggled to break into the Gillingham first-team squad at the beginning of 2000-01 and managed just a single appearance, when he played for 60 minutes of the 1-0 defeat at Grimsby Town. He subsequently became one of new manager Paul Sturrock's first signings for Plymouth Argyle at the beginning of December 2000, making his debut for the Pilgrims when he came on from the subs' bench in the 2-0 victory at Devon rivals Exeter City. He then continued to hold down a regular first-team position at Home Park, showing excellent close control on the left side of midfield and creating many goalscoring opportunities from his dangerous crosses into the box.

McGlinchey joined Torquay United in January 2004 with a contract to June 2006 but was forced to retire in March 2006 due to a back injury.
