Still in his second year as a trainee at Swansea, Alex was called up to the first-team squad to sit on the subs' bench at Bury when regular 'keeper Roger Freestone was suspended and received a surprise call to action when Jason Jones received a red card. His first task was to face a penalty kick and although he saved the first effort a retake was ordered and the ball duly dispatched into the net. Nevertheless he made a good impression during the remainder of the match and pulled off some fine saves. He subsequently continued his development in the Swans' U19s but will be aiming for more senior experience next term.
