Only played a few games for Arsenal before being denied a work permit, he went on to AC Milan, Nancy, Nice and Racing Club de Paris. He returned as a guest player for Arsenal's tour to Brazil in 1951. He went on to become mayor of Reykjavik, government minister and ambassador for Iceland to France and Spain.
