Comments:

League position: 20th This was caretaker manager Hayden Mullins' second and final game in charge. Nigel Pearson was announced as the new manager on the previous day and he watched this game from the stands. Watford avoided losing four consecutive games in the Premier League for the first time since December 2017. This was now the second time that the Hornets had failed to win any of their opening eight home games from the start of a league season (also nine games in 1990-91 in League Division Two). They had now taken 38 points from their last 38 games in the Premier League.

Comments:

League position: 8th Crystal Palace had now drawn 100 of their 404 games in the Premier League (won 117, lost 187). Palace had now kept three consecutive clean sheets in the Premier League for the first time since March 2017. Jaïro Riedewald made his first appearance in the Premier League since the visit of Brighton and Hove Albion on 14 April 2018.
