Comments:

League position: 2nd Tottenham Hotspur had now won ten consecutive league games at White Hart Lane for the first time since October 1987. They had now won ten consecutive home games in the top division within the same season for only the second time (also 1921-22 in League Division One). With Dele Alli's penalty, Spurs became the fifth club to score 800 goals in home games in the Premier League. Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino said: "To get three points you need to work hard. It was difficult. In the end we were better and deserved to win."

Comments:

League position: 10th Manolo Gabbiadini failed in his attempt to become only third player to score in each of his first four Premier League appearances (also Micky Quinn and Diego Costa). Southampton failed in their attempt to score four goals in three consecutive league games for the first time since December 1980. The Saints would now need to take 30 points out of a possible 33 from their final 11 games of this Premier League season to equal their points total of 63 in the previous season. Southampton manager Claude Puel said: "In the second-half we came back with good attitude and scored quick. In the end a draw would have been normal. It is disappointment."
