League position: 3rd After failing to win in their first three Premier League games at Wembley Stadium, Tottenham Hotspur had now won each of the last three. SON Heung-Min scored his 20th goal in the Premier League to become the leading Asian goalscorer in the competition's history, surpassing the record held by PARK Ji-Sung. Paulo Gazzaniga made his first appearance in the Premier League since playing for Southampton against Spurs on 19 December 2015. Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino said: "It was fantastic to finish that way, now we go into the international break. What is so important is the three points. After a great, amazing game against Real Madrid it is always so difficult to keep focused, be professional and win games. Today I am so delighted because the performance was fantastic, a very professional performance, and I am happy. As soon as we concede a few chances, Crystal Palace played well and had chances, but in the end the most important thing is the three points."

Comments:

League position: 20th Crystal Palace had now failed to score in eight consecutive away games in the Premier League. Only West Ham United had recorded a longer such run in the competition's history (nine games up to January 2007). The Eagles now had four points from their 11 games so far in this Premier League season, so equalling their worst start to this stage of a top division season (also 2013-14 when they finished in 11th position). Palace manager Roy Hodgson was back on the Wembley touchline for the first time since June 2016 when in charge of England as they beat subsequent Euro 2016 champions Portugal 1-0 in a friendly. Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson said: "When we look at the table, we're still on four points and we're getting further away from the teams that are just outside of the relegation zone, and our task gets harder with every defeat. It would be nice by the end of the season to have one person who is a centre-forward and goalscorer. They have Kane, Son and Llorente, and all we have if we want to change something is Bakary Sako, a left winger trying his best as a centre-forward."
