Comments:

League position: 20th This result confirmed Sunderland's relegation to the League Championship. It was the fourth time they had been relegated from the Premier League so equalling the competition record along with Crystal Palace and Norwich City. This was the Black Cats' 500th home league defeat (played 2,325 and won 1,247). They had now failed to score in 11 of their last 13 games in the Premier League. Sunderland manager David Moyes said: "We're all disappointed and I feel more for the supporters. We take collective responsibility from top to bottom. We'll dust ourselves down and see what we have to do. I don't know what words you can say to the players. I told them they fought for the jersey. Because of that it's difficult to fault them."

Comments:

League position: 10th AFC Bournemouth scored their 50th goal in this Premier League season; only six teams had scored more. This was the Cherries' first win in their last eight away games in the Premier League. Josh King became the second Norwegian player to score 15 or more goals in a Premier League season after Manchester United's Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 1996-97 and 2001-02. AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe said: "Josh King has worked incredibly hard and shows great attitude every day. The second season is harder, having gone through it. The first season is a novelty, in the second there is expectation. It's a real achievement to get 40 points."
