Comments:

League position: 9th With Burnley's Ashley Barnes sent-off at Everton during this afternoon, Stoke City became the only team yet to receive a red card in the Premier League in this season. City had never completed a full Premier League campaign without having a player dismissed. The Potters were now unbeaten in their last five home league meetings with the Saints (won three and drawn two).

Comments:

League position: 6th Since the opening weekend of the 2014-15 season, the only time that Southampton had conceded more than one goal in an away game was in the 3-2 Capital One Cup win at Stoke City on 29 October. Southampton had failed to score before half-time in eight of their preceding ten Premier League games. The Saints were now without a win in their last four away matches in the Premier League. Prior to this run, they had won four in a row.
