Comments:

League position: 11th Stoke City avoided losing five consecutive games in the top division for the first time since May 1985, and three consecutive home league defeats for the first time since September 2005. With his 22nd goal, Marko Arnautovic became the highest scoring Austrian in Premier League history (surpassed Paul Scharner). Peter Crouch's goal was the Potters' 6,000th goal in league games (played 4,942). Stoke City manager Mark Hughes said: "It was a big three points, an important three points. We've come through a period that was arguably our most testing of the season in terms of fixtures. For the most part this season we've picked up points against the teams below us and that's what we've done today."

Comments:

League position: 17th Hull City had now lost 14 of their last 15 away games in the Premier League. The Tigers had now kept only three clean sheets in their 33 games so far in this Premier League season; fewer than any other team. Harry Maguire had now scored in consecutive senior games for the first time in his career. Hull City manager Marco Silva said: "I'm not happy with our performance in general. We need to do more. We need to improve. At this level we need to start strong and play 90 minutes, not 80 minutes. Our team only played 80 minutes because the first ten, we didn't play. We can't start the game like we started."
