Comments:

League position: 10th Southampton had now scored only 14 goals in their home games so far in this Premier League season. Only strugglers Middlesbrough (12) had scored fewer. The Saints had lost five of their preceding seven games in league and cup (won two). Dušan Tadić had now been substituted in 17 of the 21 games he had now played for Southampton in this season. Oriol Romeu was booked in the second minute of added time in the second-half. Southampton manager Claude Puel said: "When you play the first game after the international break it is always difficult. Bournemouth have just three international players. It is not an excuse."

Comments:

League position: 11th This was AFC Bournemouth's all-time 500th away league draw. Harry Arter missed a 79th minute penalty by shooting too high. After scoring ten of their first 11 Premier League penalties, the Cherries had now missed the last three in a row. They had now kept clean sheets in consecutive Premier League games for only the second time (also March 2016). AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe said: "It should have been three wins in a row. We were not great in the first-half but in the second we dominated the game and had great chances put the game to bed."
