Comments:

Despite starting the last of their three games with the possibility of finishing as runners-up in Group B, Russia finished bottom of the table and were eliminated from Euro 2020. They had now lost their final group stage game in four of their last five appearances at major tournaments. With his 30th goal, Artem Dzyuba was now Russia's joint-record scorer along with Aleksandr Kerzhakov.

Comments:

Having lost their first two games and despite starting the evening at the bottom of the table, with Finland's defeat by Belgium, Denmark finished in second position and progressed to the knockout stage. This was the first time that Denmark had scored four or more goals in a game at a major tournament since a 4-1 win against Nigeria at the 1998 FIFA World Cup finals in France. Simon Kjaer made his 110th appearance for Denmark; only Dennis Rommedahl (127), Peter Schmeichel (122) and Jon-Dahl Tomasson (112) had now made more.
