Comments:

League position: 16th This was the fourth 5-4 result in Premier League history and Norwich City had now have lost two of them; also against Southampton at Carrow Road on 9 April 1994. City had been unbeaten in their five previous home Premier League games and kept clean sheets in three of them. Steven Naismith had now scored his first Premier League goal for his two clubs (Everton and Norwich City) against Liverpool. The Canaries had now conceded a divisional high of 21 goals in the last half hour of their Premier League games in this season; six more than any other team. Sebastien Bassong scored in the second minute of added time in the second half.

Comments:

League position: 7th This was the second time that Liverpool had beaten Norwich City by a 5-4 margin; also in League Division Two at Anfield on 13 January 1962. This was only the third time that the Reds had recovered from two goals behind to win an away game in the Premier League. The previous occasions were at Manchester City in October 2008 and Fulham in October 2004. At the fourth attempt, this was Liverpool's first Premier League win in 2016. They had also scored only one goal in their last four Premier League away games. Adam Lallana scored in the fifth minute of added time in the second half. He was then booked for his excessive celebration.
