Kick-off: 4.00pm local (8.00pm BST) Match Report A full strength Spain side started with a quick tempo. The first opportunity fell to Iniesta who found some space in the box and fired at the keeper. With their next attempt Spain were ahead. Jordi Alba ran at the defence and somehow managed to get through. He then finished easily into the corner. Nigeria then had a great opportunity as the ball fell to Mikel but the Chelsea midfielder was hesitant and his shot was blocked. Mba also went close forcing a top save from Victor Valdes. Saldado then went clear on two occasions and could have increased his side's advantage. Enyeama again was able to produce good saves. Nigeria were, against the odds, managing to create a number of chances. They were also enjoying a fair amount of possession. Spain then hit the post through Fabregas. The bounced fortuitously into the arms of Enyeama After the break it was Nigeria who had the first clear cut chance. Musa cross found Brown at the back post who had failed to anticipate it. Nigeria were punished for their lack of ruthlessness when substitute Torres found the net straight after coming on. He found the net when he met a cross with a diving header. Gambo should have pulled one back after some excellent work from Musa on the right wing. The substitute scuffed his shot wide of the post. Alba grabbed a magnificent second goal. Nigeria left themselves open at the back and David Villa played a long pass which Alba reached using all his acceleration. He rounded the goalkeeper then finished. Nigeria match up well to Spain during periods of the game. However, they were again terribly disappointing in front of goal. Spain will have hoped for a more dominant performance. Nevertheless a comfortable win for the World Champions. Preview Nigeria go into their encounter against Spain having been all but eliminated from the competition. The Super Eagles will have to better Uruguay's result in their match against Tahiti. Having already fielded a reserve side it remains to be seen whether Del Bosque will revert to his preferred eleven or whether further opportunities will be given to squad players. It will likely be a mixture of the two. Despite missing a penalty Torres will be hoping to be given the opportunity to add to his tally of four tournament goals. He leads the scoring charts so far. Nnamdi Oduamadi has joined the list of injured Nigerian forward after he went off injured against Uruguay. Coach Keshi will see this as a chance for his young squad to gain valuable experience playing against the best in the world. The pressure is no longer on the Nigerians who will look to express themselves and take advantage of any Spanish complacency.
