Comments:

League position: 11th Ten of Newcastle United's goals so far in this Premier League season had now been scored by recognised defenders; more than any other team in the division. This was the Magpies' first home defeat in the Premier League since the opening weekend of the season, so ending a run of eight home league games without a loss. Fabian Schär scored his sixth goal in the Premier League in 2019; only Ayoze Pérez scored more league goals for United in the year (ten).

Comments:

League position: 10th This was new manager Carlo Ancelotti's first away game in charge of Everton. He became their first manager to win both of his first two games in the Premier League since David Moyes in March 2002. Dominic Calvert-Lewin became the first player to score the winning goal in consecutive league games since Tony Cottee in League Division One in May 1991. This was the first time that they had won their final Premier League game of a year since 2013.
