League position: 19th With Newport County winning at Carlisle United in League Two earlier in afternoon, Newcastle United remained as one of only two teams in England's four divisions yet to record a league win in the 2015-16 along with local rivals Sunderland. Siem De Jong replaced Moussa Sissoko in the second minute of added time in the second half.

League position: 15th Chelsea now had eight points from their opening seven games in the 2015-16. Only Blackburn Rovers started a Premier League season as reigning champions with eight or fewer points from their first seven outings (seven in 1995-96). They had now conceded two or more goals in their first four away matches of a top division season for first time since 1961-62. Pedro was booked in the seventh minute of added time in the second half.
