Comments:

League position: 1st Manchester City had now created a new club record of 12 consecutive wins in the Premier League. City’s 40 points from their first 14 games of this Premier League this season is the joint-highest ever total at this stage of a top division season (also Tottenham Hotspur in 1960-61 on a three points for a win basis). Eight of Raheem Sterling's 13 goals so far in this season had been scored in the final ten minutes to earn an additional nine points (seven in the Premier League and two in the UEFA Champions League).

Comments:

League position: 11th Southampton's scorer Oriol Romeu was given his senior debut by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola at Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup against Sevilla in 2010. The Saints were now without a win in 15 Premier League games against the teams that finished in the top six last season (lost 11). Fraser Forster became the second goalkeeper to make 100 appearances in the Premier League for Southampton.
