They retained their record of not having lost consecutive Premier League home games since December 2008. Back-up goalkeeper Richard Wright returned to the subs' bench for Manchester City in a Premier League game for the first time since 22 December 2012 against Reading. Aleksandar Kolarov was booked in the first minute of added time in the second half. The Premier League’s Goal Accreditation Panel ruled on the following: - Manchester City’s second goal against Southampton on Saturday 28th November 2015 has been confirmed as a Fabian Delph goal. League position: 9th With this loss, Southampton failed in their attempt to equal the club record of seven consecutive away matches in the top division without defeat. They had, however, now won only two of their last 14 Premier League away games (lost seven). The Saints' last away league defeat was in their visit to Manchester City on the final day of the 2014-15 season.
