Comments:

League position: 2nd This was the first time that Manchester City had scored six goals in a game since the 7-0 Capital One Cup victory against Sheffield Wednesday on 24 September 2014. It was their first six in the Premier League since the 6-3 win against Arsenal on 14 December 2013. Manchester City scored four or more goals against Queens Park Rangers in a league game for the first time since the 5-2 win in the first meeting at Maine Road on 4 April 1951 in League Division Two. City were now unbeaten in their last six meetings with Rangers (four wins). The Citizens had now won their last six home Premier League matches, scoring 21 goals and keeping five clean sheets. Sergio Aguero had now scored eight times in his last five Premier League appearances. This took his tally for the season to 25, a new club competition record, which he previously held with Carlos Tevez with 23 goals. This was Sergio Aguero's fifth hat-trick for Manchester City in all competitions and his second in this season (also versus Tottenham Hotspur on 18 October). It was City's 13th hat-trick in the Premier League. Carlos Tevez has scored the most (four) while Aguero has now netted three.

Comments:

League position: 20th This result confirmed Queens Park Rangers' relegation to the League Championship. This defeat equalled their heaviest-ever in the Premier League, also 6-0 at Fulham on 2 October 2011. Queens Park Rangers’ only top-flight away win over Manchester City was a 3-2 win on 14 May 1995. The Hoops had now conceded 67 goals this season, a new club record in the Premier League. Keeper Rob Green had now been relegated four times from the Premier League; Queens Park Rangers twice, West Ham United and Norwich City. Only Hermann Hreidarsson and Nathan Blake have been relegated from the Premier League more often (five). Rangers conceded six goals in a game for the first time since Chelsea won 6-1 on 29 April 2012 in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge. They had now lost 15 of their 17 Premier League away games in this season when they have failed to keep a clean sheet (won one and drawn one).
