Comments:

League position: 3rd Manchester City had now lost one of their last 15 games (won eight). David Silva had now scored in consecutive games in the Premier League for the first time since December 2014. This was the first time that manager Pep Guardiola had named an unchanged starting line-up in a Premier League game. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola: "We have two games left and it was so important against the last champions. When you play against them you understand why they were champions. In the first-half we were good and it was a shame to concede an amazing goal. Everything happened in the last ten minutes. It's not easy to win games in a row."

Comments:

League position: 11th Leicester City had now lost 17 of 21 games in the Premier League in this season when they have conceded the first goal [won one]. Shinji Okazaki ended a run of 23 games in all competitions for the Foxes without scoring. The Foxes had now lost 17 league games in this season; more than any of the previous reigning Premier League champions. Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare said: "Once Sterling makes the play of the ball, he becomes active. It [the first goal] should have been offside. He's really trying to block Christian Fuchs too. To the letter of the law [a missed penalty by Riyad Mahrez] is a double touch, but he could bring it back for an encroachment from Manchester City so there's a bit of injustice. It's bad luck from our point of view. Two City players were in the penalty box."
