League position: 1st Liverpool had now equalled Manchester City's all-time record of 18 consecutive wins in the top division set from August to December in 2017 in the Premier League. The Reds had now equalled the all-time record of 21 consecutive home wins in the top division that they set from January to December in 1972 in League Division One. Issa Diop’s goal was the first that Liverpool had conceded at Anfield in all competitions since their 5-2 win against Everton on 4 December 2019. This was also the first time they had been behind in a home game in the Premier League since the visit of Tottenham Hotspur on 27 October 2019. Sadio Mané scored after 86 minutes but the goal was disallowed after a VAR review due to an offside decision.
