Comments:

League position: 5th Liverpool remained the only unbeaten team in the Premier League in 2015. They had now won six of their last seven league games and unbeaten in the last ten in the league. A team defending the Premier League title have not won at Anfield since Manchester United in December 2007. The Reds have now scored in each of Manchester City's last 21 league visits to Anfield since August 1986.

Comments:

League position: 2nd Manchester City have won only one of their last 24 league visits to Anfield. That was in May 2003 when both their goals were scored by former Liverpool striker Nicolas Anelka. This was only City's second away defeat in the Premier League in the 2014-15 season. They had earned more points in their away games (28) than they had at home (27). This was captain Vincent Kompany's 200th Premier League appearance for City. This was the first time that Yaya Toure had faced his older brother Kolo Toure in a competitive game.
