Comments:

League position: 8th This was Liverpool’s 4,000th game in the top division. The Reds had now won seven of their ten games played at Anfield on a Boxing Day since a 1-0 defeat by Manchester United in 1986. Their total of 21 goals scored was now the lowest by a team in the top half of this season's Premier League table.

Comments:

League position: 1st Leaders Leicester City failed to score for the first time in all competitions since 16 May 2015 (22 games). Five of the last six teams top of the Premier League table on Christmas Day had gone on to win the title. This loss meant the Foxes failed to equal their club league record of 13 consecutive away games without defeat. Their last away league defeat was at Tottenham Hotspur on 21 March 2015 when they were bottom of the Premier League.
