Comments:

League position: 3rd Liverpool were now unbeaten in their nine games so far in this Premier League season against the current top six (won five). The Reds had only won two of their preceding 12 games in all competitions in 2017. They failed in their attempt to keep consecutive clean sheets in home games in the Premier League for the first time since December 2014. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: "It was one of the best games we have played so far because of the strength of our opponent. We did really well. We had hard words after the defeat at Leicester. We analysed it and that wasn't enjoyable." Georginio Wijnaldum scored in the first minute of added time in the second-half. Lucas Leiva replaced Adam Lallana in the second minute of added time in the second-half. Trent Alexander-Arnold replaced Sadio Mane in the third minute of added time in the second-half.

Comments:

League position: 5th Arsenal now had not won any of their last 11 away games in the Premier League against the other current top six teams (lost six). The Gunners had now lost four of their last six games in all competitions. Danny Welbeck scored his first goal in the Premier League since April 2016 and his first career goal against Liverpool in 13 appearances in all competitions. Commenting on dropping leading scorer Alexis Sánchez to the subs bench, manager Arsène Wenger said: "The thinking was that we had to go more direct and I wanted to play two players strong in the air because we decided to go more direct. After that [it was] to bring Alexis Sánchez on in the second-half, but of course I believe in the second-half it was easier for the strikers."
