Comments:

League position: 10th Unused substitutes: Lee Harrison, Matt Joseph, Greg Heald and Chris Tate Some sources indicate that Leyton Orient's first goal was scored by Wayne Purser but the match report on the club's official web site states: "Southend’s recent trend of gifting Orient own-goals continued as two hapless headers handed the Os victory in a red blooded passionate derby encounter. "Miller was again presented with a shot in front of goal which he miscued before Broughton lifted the air of anxiety amongst the home fans with a header past Flahavan from a Billy Jones corner." Wayne Purser is also quoted as saying: "It was a bit déjà vu when the first one went in, definitely. It is a bit weird, three own-goals over two games, I don’t suppose that happens very often."

Comments:

League position: 23rd Unused substitutes: Ryan Robinson and Che Wilson
