Comments:

League position: 19th Following the sacking of manager Slaviša Jokanović, this was Claudio Ranieri's first game in charge. Fulham were now the only team yet to keep a clean sheet in a league game in the top four divisions so far this season. They had now failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 17 games in the Premier League and conceded at least two goals in 15 of those games. The Cottagers ended a run of six consecutive defeats in the Premier League. They avoided losing seven league games in a row for the first time since February 1962 in League Division One. This was their 300th win in the top division (played 1,011, lost 451).

Comments:

League position: 17th Southampton were now without a win in their last nine games in the Premier League (lost five) and had now scored 49 goals in their last 57 games in the Premier League. Manager Mark Hughes had now won only three of his 21 Premier League games in charge of the Saints (lost 11). They had now won only one of their last 11 games in the Premier League against newly-promoted teams (lost four).
