El Salvador were unable to hold onto their lead for long. Kenwyne Jones equalised as he raced onto a long ball down field and slotted into the corner. It was his first international goal in two years. El Salvador so nearly managed a winner when Osael Romero hit the postwith eight minutes to go. A 2 - 2 draw means goal difference could well come into play in Group B. These two sides will be looking for convincing wins against Haiti.
