Comments:

League position: 15th David McGoldrick became the first ever player to score in six consecutive away games for Coventry City. He had equalled Clarrie Bourton's record set in 1931 when he netted in their previous game at Hartlepool United. The win at Colchester United also meant that for the second time in the club's history, the Sky Blues had won their last game at a club's old ground (5-1 at Layer Road in April 2008) and won on their first visit to that club's new ground. The only other time that has happened was against Bolton Wanderers when City won 2-1 at Burnden Park in December 1995 and 5-1 at the Reebok Stadium in January 1998.
