Comments:

League position: 15th This was Guus Hiddink's first game in his second spell as interim manager. In his previous tenure, Chelsea lost only once in 22 games in all competitions (won 16). The Blues remained unbeaten on Boxing Day since 2003 (won six). They had now won one of their last five Premier League games and were now only two points above the bottom three.

Comments:

League position: 7th The Premier League’s Goal Accreditation Panel ruling (below) denied Odion Ighalo becoming the first Watford player to score in five consecutive top division games. The Hornets had now won two of their last 14 games played on a Boxing Day (lost seven). They had now scored in each of their last nine Premier League games. The Premier League’s Goal Accreditation Panel ruled on the following: - Watford’s second goal against Chelsea on Saturday 26th December 2015 was in fact a Gary Cahill own goal and has therefore not been credited to Odion Ighalo. (Circular 14 – 11th January 2016)
