The Clarets had now failed to score in the first-half of their last nine games in the Premier League since the visit of West Ham United on 9 November 2019. This was their first loss in the Premier League against a team starting the day in the relegation zone since 26 August 2018 at Fulham to end a run of eight such games without defeat (won five).
