Match Report Three minutes in and Neymar had silenced his critics. He ended a barren 9 game run with a volley into the top corner from outside the box following a Fred knock-down. Neymar continued to excite the crowd with his trickery. As the half progressed Japan were able to get more of a foothold in the game. Honda squandered a chance at the back post after Kagawa broke. Brazilian fans thought they had increased their lead when Hulk smashed into the side letting. Fred forced a good save from Kawashima. As in the first half Brazil scored within three minutes of kick-off. Dani Alves crossed and Paulinho controlled and finished. With a two goal cushion, Brazil started to look comfortable and controlled possession. Japan were finally able to test Cesar with a low shot after a blocked Honda free-kick was smuggled into the box. The Brazilian keeper got down well to save. Brazil rounded off the victory in injury time. Oscar broke and slide Jo in who finished calmly. This was comfortable opening victory and encouraging start for the hosts. Preview Kick-off: 4.00pm local (8.00pm BST) This opening fixture will mark Brazil's first competitive match for two years. Having been recently appointed Luis Filipe Scolari will be keen to seek a winning formula for next year's World Cup finals. It is clear that his side will be built around 21-year-old Neymar. Thiago Silva the captain is also assured of his place at centre back. The rest of the Brazil squad are likely to all be vying to secure a starting spot. Fred is likely to be give a chance to shine as the main striker in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Japan will go into this one as outsiders. Zaccaroni's men will look for inspiration from Manchester United's Shinji Kagawa. At centre back probable pairing Yoshida and Konno will have a tough job on their hands to keep out Brazilian attackers.
