Comments:

League position: 14th This was only Aston Villa’s second win in their last 13 Premier League meetings with Everton. A 1-0 win on 29 August 2010 was the previous victory when Luke Young scored the only goal. Their tally of 17 Premier League goals in ten games under Tim Sherwood favourably compares to the 12 they scored in the previous 25 games of the season. The Villans still need four points to eclipse their lowest final total in a Premier League season. 38 points was achieved in 2011-12 and 2013-14. Christian Beneteke had now scored 11 goals in his last nine matches in all competitions.

Comments:

League position: 11th Victory would have given Everton four successive league wins against the Villans for the first time since a run between 1966 and 1975. Defeat ended their six match unbeaten Premier League run. Everton had now conceded 2,501 all-time league goals. This was the Toffees 13th defeat in the Premier League in 2014-15 - the most since 16 losses in 2005-06.
