Comments:

League position: 3rd Arsenal had now failed to score in three successive home Premier League games for the first time since February 2009 when they played out four successive goalless draws. The Gunners were now unbeaten in their last 18 Premier League games played on a Wednesday (won ten). They had now not conceded a goal in the first-half at the Emirates in the Premier League since 18 October 2014 against Hull City.

Comments:

League position: 15th With one game to play, this result meant that the Black Cats had secured their Premier League status for a ninth successive season. The Black Cats had now only lost one of their last seven Premier League games (won three). They were now unbeaten in five matches for the first time since the same sequence of games (numbers 33 to 37) in the previous season. This was Sunderland’s ninth 0-0 of the season, a joint Premier League record. It was also their 17th draw overall, the most in a 38-match Premier League season. Their last away league victory against Arsenal was a 2-1 win at Highbury on 5 November 1983. They later won there 3-2 in the League Cup on 6 November 2002.
