League position: 2nd This was Arsenal’s 1,800th all-time top-flight win. Arsenal had now won ten of their last 11 Premier League matches and 15 of 17 games in all competitions since New Year's Day. The Gunners had now won nine consecutive home league games, their best run since a 13 match sequence in 2005 so their best at the Emirates Stadium. Oliver Giroud became the first player to score in six consecutive Premier League appearances for Arsenal since Emmanuel Adebayor in 2008. Arsenal have now scored in all 23 league and cup games at the Emirates in 2014-15.

Comments:

League position: 5th Hector Bellerin's opener was the first goal Liverpool had conceded in a Premier League away game since Robin Van Persie's for Manchester United on 14 December 2014 - a run of 596 playing minutes. It brought to an end a run of six clean sheets in consecutive top-flight away matches, a sequence that matched runs in 1966 and 1972. A clean sheet in this game would have set a new club record. This was the first time Liverpool had conceded four goals in a game since their 0-4 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on 18 September 2011. The Reds had now lost two consecutive Premier League matches, a run that was preceded by an unbeaten streak of 13 matches (ten wins and three draws). This was the first time that Liverpool were three or more goals down at half time in the Premier League since against Southampton at The Dell on 14 February 1994 which they eventually lost 4-2. The Reds have won just one of their last 19 visits to Arsenal in all competitions (drawn seven and lost 11). Liverpool had now scored in 14 of their last 15 Premier League games.
