Comments:

League position: 10th Unused substitutes: Kevin Scriven and Derek Holmes James Hayter's hat-trick was timed at 2 minutes 20 seconds and is believed to be the quickest in the history of the Football League. The only known possibly quicker League threesome was scored by Jimmy Scarth who netted three in two minutes for Gillingham versus Leyton Orient in November 1952 in Division Three (South). As this was long before the days of every game being electronically timed, the exact duration remains debatable.

Comments:

League position: 9th Unused substitutes: Paul Whitfield and Hector Sam This is the first time Wrexham had lost by a six goal margin since the went down 6-0 at Aldershot on 19 October 1985. Four days earlier the Robins had beaten Cambridge United 6-2 at The Racecourse.
