League position: 14th AFC Bournemouth became the first team to miss two penalties in the first-half of a Premier League game since Aston Villa against Wimbledon on 12 September 1998. Josh King became the sixth Norwegian international to score a hat-trick in the Premier League after Jan Åge Fjørtoft, Tore André Flo, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Steffen Iversen and John Carew. At the ninth attempt, this was the Cherries' first win in the Premier League in 2017 (lost five). After three draws and five defeats, this was AFC Bournemouth's first Premier League home win against a team from London. Prior to this game, the Cherries had converted all seven penalties awarded in the Premier League in this season. AFC Bournemouth's only previous hat-trick in the Premier League was also scored against West Ham United (Callum Wilson on 22 August 2015). Josh King missed a ninth minute penalty by shooting wide. Steve Cook was booked in the third minute of added time in the second-half. AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe said: "It sums up the Premier League really - the ups and downs are extreme but I think we played well. Yes we missed two penalties and I was surprised to see Joshua miss it but his strike partner took the next one. There's nothing wrong with that."

League position: 11th This is the first time that an opponent had failed to convert two penalties in a Premier League game against West Ham United. The Hammers had now won one of their last six Premier League games. Michail Antonio had now scored more goals in the Premier League (17) than any other West Ham United player since he made his debut in September 2015. Darren Randolph saved Benik Afobe’s 37th minute penalty. West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic said: "In the end, definitely we deserved to get something out of the game but they played well and played with great aggression."
