League position: 14th AFC Bournemouth remained without a win in their first six league games of a year for the first time since 1960. The Cherries had now conceded 18 goals in the Premier League in 2017; six more than any other team. They had now lost all four of their Premier League games played on a Monday without scoring a goal. AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe said: "City were very good. For an away team that was a very controlled performance. Our lads gave absolutely everything, I can't ask any more of them."

League position: 2nd Manchester City were now unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions (won four) and had now only lost two of their last ten Premier League games. City had now won 11 of the 13 games when keeper Willy Caballero had started in all competitions so far in this season compared to 11 wins out of 23 when Claudio Bravo had started in goal. They had now won 11 of their last 14 games in the Premier League played on a Monday. Manchester City's second goal was reviewed by the Premier League Match Centre and confirmed as a Tyrone Mings own goal. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said: "We made a real performance. I am so pleased with how we did and especially the last 10-15 minutes, we did the right way to make the result with a thousand million passes."
