  1. Brighton's trio of own goals

    It has been widely reported that Brighton & Hove Albion created FA Cup history yesterday when they 'scored' three own goals in their 6-1 Fifth Round tie defeat at Liverpool.



    Although very rare, three own goals by the same team in a game is not unique.

    In fact, it happened as recently as last Tuesday (14 February). Peterhead's 6-1 loss at Elgin City in the Scottish Third Division included OG's by David Ross, Rory McAllister and Callum MacDonald.

    The Premier League's only own goal hat-trick was especially extraordinary.

  2. Spurs hit four-figure mark

    After their best start to a league season since their famous double-winning side of 1960-61, Tottenham Hotspur’s title ambitions were dented on Saturday when they were held to a 1-1 draw by lowly Wolverhampton Wanderers at White Hart Lane.
    The goal that denied Spurs another three-point reward also meant they have become the first club to concede a total of 1,000 goals in the history of the Premier League.

  3. Premier League and Football League suspensions weekend of 25 November

    With a one-game ban after picking up five yellow cards, Jamie O'Hara misses his first Premier League game for Wolverhampton Wanderers this season.

    Fellow midfielder Stephen Hunt is also suspended for the tough trip to Chelsea.
