The 11v11 blog focuses on football statistics, records and football history.
Tottenham Hotspur had won six league games in a row for the first time since 1990, equalling their best ever unbeaten run in the Premier League and must have fancied their chances against a Stoke City side who recently suffered a run of five defeats in six league and cup games.
However, Tottenham were undone by two goals from former Hotspur Matthew Etherington whilst the Stoke team also featured former players Jonathan Woodgate and Peter Crouch.
To complete the humiliation, Stoke boss Tony Pulis had been assistant to current Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp at AFC Bournemouth in 1991.
Congratulations to Stoke City!

This week's goal of the week was Sunderland’s goal by Kieran Richardson in the defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
- With Martin O’Neill looking on from the stands, the new manager saw the best and worst of Sunderland at Molineux.
- After clearing a Wolves corner, left-back Kieran Richardson supported Stephane Sessegnon from deep at great speed and took the pass in his stride before beating keeper Wayne Hennessey at his near post with a cracking left-foot shot.
This week's performance of the week goes to Yakubu Aigegbeni for his four goals for Blackburn Rovers in the 4-2 win against Swansea City.
- With the the backdrop of the on-going protests against the club’s owners and management, Yakubu’s four goals earned Blackburn Rovers a crucial win against Swansea City at Ewood Park.
- The hostile atmosphere continued even after his first goal as there were audible jeers from the home crowd when the former Everton striker celebrated the opener with boss Steve Kean.
- The Rovers fans may have been more forgiving if they had known that it was the 30th time that Yakubu has scored the opening goal in a Premier League game and hasn’t been on the losing side in any of them.
Although the Football League loans transfer window is now closed for the month, there's still activity to report on this week's transfer list.
As well as loans to non-league clubs, there's confirmation of Jos Hooiveld's permanent switch to Southampton and free agent lamine Diatta's move to Doncaster Rovers.

Last week, of course, we picked Ba and Sturridge as the scorers in their matches and two assists by Mata (the Chelsea duo were our star selections). Hopefully our lads continue to produce the goods this weekend.
We'll update the predictions to incorporate line-up information prior to kick-off.
