Goal of the Week: Hatem Ben Arfa for Newcastle United at Bolton Wanderers.
- Against a struggling Bolton who were rejuvenated by the midweek win at Blackburn, Newcastle United ended a run of six games without a win with what eventually became a comfortable victory.
- A draw had looked the most likely result though after a first half that lacked any notable chances.
- The game turned on its head midway through the second period. After Bolton gave the ball away, full-back Ryan Taylor charged down left-wing. Faced with seven defenders in or around the Wanderers penalty area, Taylor’s precise cross on the run found an unmarked Hatem Ben Arfa who beat home keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen with a crisp first-time effort.
- It is Newcastle’s only goal in their last six Premier League games that hasn’t been scored by Demba Ba.
